Porcelain Pool Tiles:
Porcelain tiles can be used in and around the pool, these tiles are said to be slightly more expensive than ceramic tiles and they have a nicer finish to them. Porcelain Pool tiles claim to be designed with a "non-slip" texture which prevents slipping and accidently when walking on wet or damp tiles, this non-slip design allows them to be used around the swimming pool side and areas nearby the pool.
Ceramic tiles can be cut into smaller shapes and sizes as they apparently have a similar density to ceramic tiles, but are a little less dense so they do not absort small amounts of water, this can mean they do not require sealing. Porcelain pool tiles are easily installed and should give a shining finish to the pool when in contact with the swimming pool or spa water.
Porcelain Pool Tile creation:
Porcelain tiles are apparently produced by using a different method from normal ceramic tiles. Instead of the glaze being applied to a ceramic base tile the glaze is blended with the clay that forms the tile. This porcelain clay "body" is then pressed at extreme pressure to form the tile in a hydraulic press
Many Porcelain tiles are then said to be polished to a very high finish using exactly the same equipment that is used to polish Granite and Marble.

When colouring a porcelain tile it is said to be possible to mix oils and water colours so the tile has a "liquid image" as itd coloured design. This design is said to be popular among porcelain pool tiles as they are claimed to fit in with the pool's style or image.
